We hope you all survived last week’s storm without much trouble. Damage within the sanctuary has been minimal but we encourage you to be cautious on trails and grounds as there are still some fallen branches and debris throughout the sanctuary.
Also, you may have heard or seen on the news that ConEd and an army of bucket trucks, repairmen, etc. are using the Playland parking lot as a staging area for their repairs throughout Westchester County. Please know that they have left the lane into the sanctuary clear so members may still drive in. Simply enter at the main parking entrance and follow the drive back toward the Dragon Coaster and into the sanctuary. Flagmen are directing traffic.
Sadly, our nature center building is still closed, and our programming is still on hold. We will not be hosting our bi-annual Fall Fest this year.
Lastly, we want to thank you all for your patience this year — both with us and with each other. We know it has been trying. Rules have changed frequently outside of our control. We appreciate all of you fellow nature lovers and are especially grateful for all who are following the rules, wearing masks, practicing social distancing, keeping dogs and bikes off the trails, and cleaning up after themselves (and others)! Thank you!
See you at the sanctuary!
